Catalan Bay

Caleta Beach is one of the popular beaches for locals in Gibraltar. The beach offers picturesque views of the Mediterranean Sea and the iconic Rock of Gibraltar.

Caleta Beach is a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing. The Mediterranean waters are generally calm, making it suitable for both experienced swimmers and families with children.

The beach is well-equipped with amenities such as public restrooms, cafes, and restaurants. There are also lifeguards on duty during the peak summer months to ensure the safety of swimmers.

Sandy Bay

Best for tourists

Sandy Bay is situated on the eastern side of Gibraltar, about a 10 minute walk down from Catalan Bay village. Sandy Bay is a hidden gem in Gibraltar, appreciated for its natural beauty and tranquility. It's a lovely spot to relax, take in the stunning coastal scenery, and enjoy the Mediterranean waters in a peaceful setting.

The beach has fine golden sand and clear and shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing, swimming, and wading. The sheltered cove helps create a calm and gentle sea environment.

With a section closed off especially for children, and a very well priced chiringuito restaurant close by, Sandy bay is the perfect beach to visit for families. There's also paddleboarding for hire, changing rooms and sun loungers for hire should you need it.

As this location is quite further to get to, it's maybe worth using the taxi service (+350 200 70027) to travel to and from the beach if visiting Gibraltar.

Eastern Beach

Popular local beach

Eastern Beach is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. The gentle slope into the sea and lifeguard services during the summer months add to its safety for families with children. Eastern beach is also the closest main beach to the town centre, towards thend of Devils Tower Road. 

The beach is well-equipped with amenities such as public restrooms, showers and changing rooms. Eastern Beach offers beautiful views of the Rock of Gibraltar and the coastline of Spain, which lies just across the Strait of Gibraltar. 

Parking is available and there is also a bus service too.

Camp Bay & Little Bay

Kid Friendly with Swimming Pools

Camp Bay features a mix of sand and pebbles, with a more rugged and natural feel compared to some of the other beaches in Gibraltar. The sea here can be a bit rougher, but there is also pools to enjoy.

The beach is popular among locals and is sometimes referred to as "Camp Bay Beach" by residents. It has a community feel and you will find many local families here, and few tourists.

Visitors can enjoy a beachside café, restrooms, and changing rooms. Camp Bay is accessible by car, and there is parking available nearby.
