Paddleboarding in Gibraltar provides breathtaking views of the Rock of Gibraltar, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the African continent in the distance. The crystal-clear waters and dramatic cliffs make for a picturesque backdrop.
With a choice of water sports available such as snorkling, kayaking, e-foiling and more - be sure to get in touch with In2Adventures!
Bike Rentals (including E-Bikes)
If you're a cycling fan and want to aventure around Gibraltar and up The Rock, we recommend hiring an e-bike. EBike Gibraltar has both a choice of bike tours you can join, private bike tours and individual rentals available. E-bikes help a lot on the tough climbs in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve!
Cycle Centre also has a choice of rentals available too, so we've included both websites for you to visit to help you choose the best choice for you!
Swimming & Sports Complexes
Depending on the time of year you visit, enjoying a swim at one of the popular beach spots is probably your best choice for a swim with a view! With Sandy Bay (calmer), Eastern Beach, Camp Bay (perfect for families in summer!) and Catalan Bay among recommendations (with changing rooms available during summer).
Some local hotels also have swimming pools, including The Sunborn, The Rock Hotel and The Eliott Hotel. Some airbnb's come with access to private pools too.
There's also Bayside Sports Complex that has a swimming pool, and also there is a new Lathbury Sports Complex at Europa Point. We've included contact details should you wish to enquire about timetables for public (note that sometimes there are timeslots for non-locals).
Med Steps Hike
The Med Steps is a local hidden gem for a fantastic hike to the top of The Rock!
With plenty of viewpoints to stop for rest breaks or photo opportunities, the med steps is one of the most popular local trails. You can purchase tickets from the booth by The Pillars of Hercules, then you'll find the start just down the road on the left-hand side by The Jews Gate.
You'll find much less tourists compared to the main Nature Reserve road trail, although it is more difficult with some steep steps. Make sure to take water and suncream!
Scuba Diving
Divers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, can enjoy diving in Gibraltar. However, some dive sites may be more suitable for experienced divers due to strong currents and depth. Local dive operators are well-versed in the area's diving conditions and can help plan safe and enjoyable dives.
Gibraltar boasts a rich and diverse marine ecosystem. Divers can encounter various species of fish, including barracuda, groupers, moray eels, and schools of colorful reef fish.
Gibraltar has several shipwrecks to explore, some dating back to World War II. One of the most famous is the SS Rosslyn, a cargo ship sunk in 1940. The underwater wrecks serve as artificial reefs, attracting marine life and making for fascinating dive sites.
